The rug designs within this collection are inspired from asymmetrical designs taken from a c 1900 periodical titled shin bijutsukai housed in the rare book division of the cooper hewitt branch of the smithsonian libraries. Inspiration for these plush high end hand tufted rugs stems from artifacts found within the smithsonian s vast museum and gallery archives. Part of an exclusive collection this rug is extremely well made with 100 new zealand wool that is semi worsted making the 60 knots per square inch that much smoother to the touch.
