Taking A Rag Rug Off Theloom

Here are a few thoughts and practices that have helped me at the loom.
Taking a rag rug off theloom. Use your leftover rags and scraps to weave a rug on a homemade loom. Now that you have twined your rug to the middle and tied it off on the back it is time to remove it from the loom. Cut it up into strips and save it for a diy weaving project. This video shows finishing the last row of a hand twined rag rug.
First thing is to remove the bars on both sides. Or maybe you are just beginning to explore the idea of weaving rag rugs. If you don t want the fringe you can weave it in later or sew some fabric tape around the edges. We then show the removal of the rug from the loom.
After the bars are out start popping the loops off the pegs. Into the wash and dry. The cost will be almost free and the finished. Start cutting the warp threads in small groups of 2 and making an overhand knot to keep the rug from unravelling.
Maybe you do too. Once it is out the other one slides out much easier. Making and adding fringes is also cove. Hopefully you ll find something here that helps you too.
Cutting it off the loom. And out popped this amazingly soft and fluffy with out the fuzzy stuff rug. And a close up of the weaving and nobbles. After about 2 hours i was done the rag rug came off the loom along with a gazillion really not exaggerating on bit fuzzy stuff.
I choose fringe for now.
