Tate Press On Floor

This is your starting position.
Tate press on floor. Keep the dumbbells as close together as possible to maintain proper balance. Since your elbows are kept high unlike the bench press you can perform the tate press on the floor. The tate press is effective at improving the performance of your triceps during the bench press which makes it popular amongst powerlifters. At the bottom of the movement flex your triceps to drive the dumbbell back up until your arms are fully extended.

You can perform the tate press by lying on the floor alternatively. Flex at the elbows as you begin to lower the dumbbells down towards your inner chest as your elbows point out. One side of each dumbbell should touch each other. Since your elbows are kept high unlike the bench press you can perform the tate press on the floor.
How to do dumbbell tate press. Clean the dumbbells to your shoulders and raise them straight overhead so that the dumbbells are parallel with the floor and your palms are facing forward. Don t lock out at the top of the movement to protect your elbows. Keep the dumbbells at chest level during the movement to avoid over rotation of the shoulder which is dangerous.
Inhale as you lower the dumbbells straight down to your chest.
